Setelah sekian lama terpuruk di pasar smartphone, Nokia mulai mencoba unjuk gigi. Tidak hanya mengandalkan Windows Phone, Nokia pun memperkenalkan teknologi gambar yang dinamakan PureView. Nokia 808 Pureview menjadi produk pertama yang menggunakan teknologi ini.
Seperti dikutip dari situs resmi Nokia, ponsel ini diperkenalkan pertama kali di ajang Mobile World Congress, di Barcelona, Spanyol. Lalu seperti apa teknologi PureView?
Nokia 808 ini menggunakan sensor resolusi tinggi 41 MP, dengan optik Carl Zeiss dan teknologi pixel oversampling. Ini berarti walau menggunakan resolusi standar 5 MP, gambar tidak pecah saat di-zoom, karena sensor super-high-resolution yang dimiliki memiliki starting point 7728x5368 pixels, atau setara 41 MP.
"Orang-orang akan mengira fokus hingga sensor 41 megapixel. Padahal lompatan kuantum sesungguhnya adalah bagaimana pixel itu digunakan untuk mendapatkan gambar dengan kualitas baik dalam resolusi apapun," demikian keterangan yang disampaikan Nokia.
Nokia 808 juga dilengkapi video HD 1080p video recording dan playback, dengan kemampuan lossless zoom hingga 4 kali lipat.
Sebagai smartphone, Nokia 808 pun dilengkapi kemampuan menyesuaikan ukuran compact, sehingga mudah untuk di-share melalui email, MMS, dan jejaring sosial.
